Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities
Habitat for Humanity
Auburn, Washington
Habitat for Humanity is one of the major pillars within The Knights of Columbus Community Programs. Each Council is challenged to volunteer up to 200 hours of service each year.
Our Council has established a partnership with the Habitat for Humanity Store in Auburn.
At the store, Knights assist with accepting donations, stocking, customer assistance, loading vehicles, etc. Shifts are typically 4 hours in length Tuesday through Saturday.
Knights interested in volunteering on a regular basis can contact Mark Rosenberger, or the Habitat for Humanity Store Manager.

THE STOREHOUSE
Covington Foodbank
Storehouse is a non-profit, food distribution program for families in the greater Covington area. We partner with local businesses, civic groups, and schools to ease the burdens of those we serve. Currently 11 local churches partner with us, enabling us to serve over 140 families, as well as 11 ministries that provide assistance to rehabilitation houses, homeless, and community dinners. With a reduction in food insecurity, neighbors are empowered to become self-sufficient and stable, thus reaching their full potential.
One of the Knights of Columbus major programs is providing service to our community. We have been involved for years with The Storehouse foodbank, by providing labor to haul food from several local businesses. The volume of food we collect each week ranges from 2,000 pounds to 16,000 pounds. Our major need is for volunteers to help with our regular Tuesday service. On Tuesdays we need 6 people to haul food with us. We have regular helpers, but everyone can’t come every week, so we rely on substitutes to hit our goal of 6 people. The boxes we load, and unload can weigh 40 to 50 pounds. We start at 12:30PM and end between 3:00 to 4:30PM depending on the size of our load.  If you are interested, please contact Lyn Johnson at 253-653-9864. We would love to put you on our substitute list.
